First week of April, group of friends and pilots went to Cross Vipava Trip with Hanka a Renka. Vipava Valley is situated close Slovenian coast. It is great place for first thermal flying, not only for beginners, in the spring time. Long ridge and take off on sunny side make special microclimate for this area. If it is not possible to fly anywhere in Alps, here it is no problem.

Cross Vipava Valley

Cross Vipava trip was for pilots, who want to try first cross country flight with the group and instructor. No problem. Just hear the advice and follow in the air Tetaliska. Hanka make support from the ground, take off and transport back. So great challenge!! For few days was excellent weather and we flow nice 20 km FAI triangles, visited lake in flatlands or Nova Gorica from the air. April was also tricky and only strong north wind keeping us few days on the ground. We explore this area very well. At first we found great camping in nature, called Babylon with funny owner, Darko Hvala. He made every day for us some surprises. For example…clean toilet, new shower, bring grill and football to make fun. We enjoy this place a lot. First trip we visit one of the biggest Skocianska cave in Europe, with huge rooms, beautiful stalagmites and stalactites and amazing river inside. Vipava valley is also famous from great home made vine, so we had occasion to taste it in local home fabric or in Ozeljan Pizzeria.
