Makedonia Discovery
Our journey to Balkan began near Serbian town of Nis, a place where many cross-country competitions took place for its quality thermic conditions. Unfortunately, when we got there and took off, the air wasn't so good. Despite our effort, we all landed shortly after.
Out next stop was Macedonian town of Tetovo, where we spotted the real Albanian wedding. For the most of us it was a pleasure to see this with our own eyes. Our attention caught the women, who heavily made up, resembled a proper medieval painting.
We took the track up to the Popova Sapka take off, and enjoyed some really agile thermals. The terrain seemed to be ideal for Speed-riding course – another one to be looking forward to.
Next stop was the mountain town of Krusevo. Our arrival was greeted by herds of people clothed in traditional folk costumes. At the time of our arrival the Slavonic Cup was taking place and we met many foreign pilots on launch. It was a good day. We joined the racing pilots and flew their 60km track playfully. The outlook during the flight was amazing. Such a nice valley with many tobacco fields, maize fields and herds of donkeys. Every XC flight is appreciated with a beer and this one was no exception. The chinwag with locals at pub cut down on waiting time for the official retrieval truck that took us back to Krusevo take off, where we all celebrated the successful race.
Our next stop was supposed to be Ohrid, a bathing town on the coast of the beautiful Ohrid lake. But the weather persuaded us to stay in Krusevo and enjoy another thermicaly active day. This time we tried to fly all the way down to Bitola. This 3-hour flight was not a piece of cake and many pilots bombed out in the flatlands. The more lucky ones fought 20 feet above ground and made the goal. We landed on Bitola's football pitch and watched a bunch of kids packing our gliders.
Summary: excellent flight terrains, happy smiling people, refreshing bathing, excellent adventures and cool parties, plenty of food for a penny and some very cheap fruit. It was fun!

Nemáš za co Klárko, mě ty kilometry taky příjemněji ubíhali, navíc s šikovnou blondýnkou :-) jinak v sekci tandemy najdeš fotky...
Ještě jsme zapomněli zmínit, že mají v Makedonii hromady výborných vodních melounů „a tak jsme si v tom vedru jeden takový meluň kupili a cely sme ho lyškama zjedli “ :-).
Přidávám se ke Karlíkovi, nej akcička za dlouhou dobu, škoda, že jste s námi nemohli k Ohridskému jezeru, lítání při západu slunce a koupání v průzračné vodě nemělo chybu.A jedno velké dík Tomovi za super zážitky při dvou mých nejdelších přeletech :-)))
No fakt to nemělo chybu, snad jen, že to mohlo být delší, ale to už bychom se snad ani nechtěli vrátit :-)
