We´d arrived a couple days before festival to introduce to our students the local cross-country and to try out a few basic manouvres above the sea. First days was absolutely excelent wheather, I had never ever saw that here for that whole 8 years. A huge and wide thermic and the base was somewhere around 2800m, the clouds were formed above the see cause of the wind from continent, so I could rise up to 2500m right above the see. To stay couple hours in the air was no problem.
Next two days were jotted by crossing front. The first day was blewing too much strong wind and second one was the top covered in clouds. In these days we flew from the lower take–off, there´is possible to fly from 300, 600 or 900m. After these two days we made a date for the morning transport to Babadag, one of the main reason was to catch a few interesting pictures at sunrise. Inspire for this trip a group a pilots was such a hard job, cause we had to wake up at 4: 30…Some of us rather kept up all the night. Reward to us was a perfect wheather, it was blowing ideal wind, the night was clear with a fullmoon. A huge orange ball began to crop up fifteen minutes after our arrival, a long shadow of the Babadag created on the sea the outline of pyramide.
Thirteen Sky Paragliders pilots took off almost in one time and as a flotilla went off in direction Oludeniz :) We flew above the lagoon, where were grounding the old pictoral sailboats and in the water we could see the harmonic play of various shades of blue and green colours.
What to say in fine ? Blue sky, warm sea, a lot of interesting people, turkish bath and as well excellent cuisine in a pleasant hotel, what else we can wish ?
To all, who missed this year, roughly at the same time next year you will get a next opportunity and dont forgot that it will be 10th jubilee year of Oludeniz Air Games. For more information check our sites in time :)
