Before Czech Open organization Karel Vejchodský prepared XC Open serial, for pilots who like long cross country flies. During one week of this competition will come more than 100 pilots and compete in 4 different tasks. The weather was every day different and winner of this comp was pilot, who flies excellent in strong conditions, even in very smooth thermal.

1 – Task – 65 km long distance with 4 Turn points, crossing valley and goal in Levico Terme. Conditions were excellent, the climb above take off very easy and waiting for air start cylinder open without any problems. The cloud bases were at 2800 m and first point was far with few crossing valley. The task made harder strong thermal and SW wind. Better to keep the high and follow snowy covered ridge, than low flight. In the goal more than 44 pilots with winner of the task Petr Chromec, woman Renata Kuhnova 19 min. after winner.

2 – Task – 75 km long to the Pieve valley and landing in Feltre. First we got 3000 m cloud base, but on the way to the east part, more humidity was in the air and clouds were more than 1000 m lower. Clear air change to bad visibility and we had feeling that we are in washing room. At turn point was rainy so the task was stopped with one Italy man in the goal and first group 7 km from the landing. Rest was on the ground just because of the rain and shadows.

3 – Task – 62 km few times crossing valley. The weather was worst than normally. Front system stopped on north part of the Alps and high clouds covered the sky. It was very hard to climb up, most of the pilots land before start was open. Half pilots follow on the way, turn long and hard very smooth thermal. More than 20% pilots made minimum distance 20 km, so task was valid with maximum 350 points.

4 – Task – 62 km, the same task like before, with a little bit better conditions. Cirrus still covered the sky, but thermal was working well and a lot of cumulus covered the sky. At the begin was quick flight, later with clouds covered sky was hard climb and most of the pilots missed last TP. Only 30 pilots on the goal, but favorites land earlier and this task change results a lot. It was about good decision in the end and also big luck. That is game.
