We decide at 1.4. to go for paragliding flying trip to Slovenia. We cross during the night the cold front and we were very surprised, because it was also snowy. But on the south part of the Karavanky Alps the snow were melted. The clouds were sitting down and due the weather we had to move from Karavanky to Lijak – famous Vipava valley with its special microclimate. The weather prediction was not perfect, but finally we fly all 5 days. Most of the pilots made their first record with high, spending time in the air or cross country distances. After cold front the weather is very unstable, thermal is working very well and you can spend in the air all day. You can see all of snowy covered peaks of Julske Alpy, coast and beautiful Vipava valley. After flying we visit great Pizzeria in Ozeljan or made barbecue. Also we were guests of Vine tastery, local home made and high quality vine was excellent. The last day was the best and most of us made some long distance, fly around 2000 m altitude and spend there more than 3 hours. The nature wake up and we will come next week.
